CARE DURING COVID

ONLINE APPOINTMENTS

Move is is closely following legal, regulatory and professional frameworks to guide our return to operations to ensure the safety of patients, of the wider public and for all our staff.

Move Clinics will be operating a ‘virtual first’ approach for consultations as standard practice, as advised through these frameworks.

Online consultations have been shown to be an effective method for the delivery of physiotherapy services allowing us to provide you with advice and exercises to take control of your injury; we run our online consultations with the goal to get you out of pain and back to full function. We have had positive feedback and repeat requests from patients who have already had online consultations with our team.

Appointments can be booked here or by contacting our reception during our modified COVID-19 business hours.

 How we help via remote consultation;

    • Discuss with you your situation in detail; including onset and pattern of your presenting complaint
    • Undertake a comprehensive medical history,
    • Identify contributing factors
    • Assist with a diagnosis
    • Current movements and posture
    • Provide you with strategies and guidance to reduce pain
    • Provide appropriate and specific exercises to restore your movement and reduce pain as quickly and safely as possible
    • Optimise your current exercise program
    • Build a precise rehabilitation program; including technique advice
    • Set you up with our online rehabilitation tracker app Physitrack; which provides you with the necessary step by step instruction and allows us to monitor your progress
    • Facilitate you to implement self-management strategies to continue to build long-term resilience
    • Provide appropriate onward referral if required

During your video consultation, if the physiotherapist deems that effective treatment cannot reasonably be carried out remotely, we will use this time to

    • Discuss with you the clinical rationale for face to face appointment
    • Conduct a risk assessment for you and your planned contacts
    • Ensure you understand and are educated on the relative risks
    • Discuss procedures in place ahead of face to face consultations
    • Gain written consent
    • Document our rationale according to frameworks

BOOKING & PAYMENT PROCESS

Appointments can be booked here or by contacting our reception during our modified COVID-19 business hours.

Once a booking is made, you will receive confirmation of your booking via SMS and/email.

Prior to your appointment you will receive an email link to join a video meeting with your clinician. All initial consultations will be held remotely through the online platform ‘Zoom’ – which is easily accessed on PC and mobile devices. The booking link may be sent as close as 5 minutes before your consultation; if you are unfamiliar with the platform we advise you trial it ahead of time.

We will take your payment prior to your appointment; payments must be made through online bank transfer or by calling reception on Mondays. Move Clinic’s bank details will be sent prior to your appointment.

All private insurers have agreed to cover virtual appointments (providing there are no exclusionary clauses in individual policies). In some instances, we can submit your claim directly with your insurer, if this isn’t the case we will provide you with the necessary paperwork in order to be refunded by your policy. Please be in contact with us prior to your appointment to discuss how we operate with your individual insurer.

Clinic changes-

  • ‘Virtual first’ approach
  • We are operating a significantly reduced service to minimise the number of patients and staff in the clinic at one time
  • clients will be asked to wait outside the building or in their cars and will be collected at the time of their appointment once the space is safe and clean
  • online and telephone payments will be standard
  • as clinical demand increases we will review these strategies and implement relevant changes.

PPE-

  • Our staff will be wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) during face to face consultations
  • We recommend patients to bring their own face covering during treatment

Infection prevention and control procedures-

  • We are following Public Health England (PHE) COVID-19 guidelines
  • Time will be taken between each patient to disinfect the treatment area
  • Clients will we asked to bring their own towels and shorts/ wear appropriate attire for consultation
  • Our clinics will have increased deep cleans to ensure we maintain the highest levels of hygiene
  • Industry recommended virucidal disinfectant cleaning products will be used
